15 SCARY Animal Invasions

number 15 rattle snakes in the basement depending on where you live there's a variety of animal species you may expect you'll potentially find in or around your home but even if you're prepared for some of the most dangerous you surely wouldn't expect to be confronted by 45 of them but that's exactly what happened to a texas homeowner in march of 2019 when he went and tried to fix an issue with his cable tv he had climbed underneath his home after a service outage during high winds but he saw a few snakes which encouraged him to quickly escape and call a snake removal company to everyone's surprise it wasn't just a few snakes that he had discovered but 45 adult rattlesnakes that had seemingly decided to take refuge there until the weather warmed up according to the experts who removed them it's very unusual to find that many snakes in a clean house that has a well-kept yard but all the snakes really care about is survival so they'll hide wherever they need to when conditions become too treacherous

number 14 mountain lion behind the couch there are still communities around the world where residents feel safe enough to leave their doors unlocked and while that may seem strange to most people the one thing everyone should remember to do is at least close their doors because no matter where they live you can never quite know what'll walk inside that's the lesson from oregon resident lauren taylor learned in 2018 when she heard a shriek coming from her living room she walked in and staring back at her were a pair of yellow brown eyes from behind the couch there was a mountain lion inside of her house it later turned out that the animal had been taking a drink from a fountain outside her home and after seeing an open door decided to investigate it soon found a warm comfortable space and thought it would be perfect to relax in as an animal lover taylor stepped out of the room to watch through a window and so the lion actually settled down and fall asleep after a few moments though it woke up looked at her once more and then dozed off again and it was apparently a further six hours until the mountain lion had fully rested and was ready to head out into the world again it's amazing that the owner was that patient enough to let it stay for that long but even if she hadn't been would there really have been anything else she could do about it

number 13 raccoons in the walls raccoons are highly resourceful creatures and are able to turn just about any part of your home into a potential den the problem with this though is that sometimes they manage to fall into a place that they're unable to escape from and this can be frightening not just for the animals themselves but also for the homeowners or guests because panicking raccoons can sound very similar to crying babies the main problem faced by raccoons in homes is the chance of them falling within the cavities of the walls and when this happens there's very little choice other than to break them out this has to be done carefully of course first you need to bang on the wall to make sure you know their exact position then you can begin to knock through the plaster even once you've made a hole you now need to be extremely careful as with all wild animals you can never be sure how the raccoon will react the best bet at this point is to back off and let them escape by themselves but if you must do it then it has to be done slowly and extremely carefully

number 12 hungry bear in colorado the only species of bear that's native to the state is the american black bear normally sticking to forested areas the animals can grow to just under seven feet in length and weigh as much as 300 pounds and behind their sheer size they have a powerful bite and strong paws that help them access food that's why if you find yourself face to face with a black bear the best option is to back off and let it do whatever it wants and in this video the homeowner of this property was probably glad after seeing the footage that they weren't around in fact frighteningly they were actually asleep in bed upstairs and had no idea that a bear somehow led itself into their kitchen and had begun to help itself to food in their fridge and cabinets it's surprisingly adept at opening the doors which would suggest this isn't the first time this opportunistic food thief has found itself in a human home before and it even seemed to be very careful not to cause any unnecessary damage maybe it was hoping that if it was respectful it'll be welcome to return again but needless to say once the homeowner saw this footage they took every precaution they could to ensure no bears ever entered their house again

number 11 wallaby visits the emergency room there are certainly times that you'd be able to visit an emergency room and see cues of people exhibiting animalistic behavior while they wait to be treated but this has to be an almost unheard of case of a real wild animal trying to check itself into a hospital it happened in victoria australia in february of 2021 and security footage captured everything a wallaby named wally first appeared outside and appears to know precisely what he's doing as he bounds into the entrance of the emergency department the two nurses inside couldn't believe what they were seeing and after an initial shock even started to record footage of the animal after taking another look around the department and clearly deciding that it wasn't what he was looking for wally then hopped out of the building the way he had gone in and then he got on with his day amazingly this isn't the first time something like this has happened at this particular hospital as a few years earlier a koala found its way in through the exact same entrance

number 10 thirsty turkey you'd normally expect turkeys to do everything they could to avoid entering someone's home after all it usually doesn't end so well for them but wild turkeys are inquisitive and mischievous animals and surprisingly large growing up to four feet and weighing up to 24 pounds in april of 2015 nancy page a resident of rhode island just learned how troublesome the animals can be and got quite the fright when she returned home after a long day at work when she entered her house she found water pouring through her garage ceiling and thought a pipe had burst at first but after walking upstairs she discovered to her horror that a turkey had somehow smashed its way in through her bedroom window once it was inside it somehow managed to turn on the faucets in the sink and then was so startled that it started flapping about and smashed some of the porcelain after managing to get rid of the turkey with the assistance of animal control paige found turkey droppings throughout the bathroom and some of the fittings were so damaged that she was forced to throw the sink out in total it caused several thousand dollars worth of damage

number nine cows redecorate conservation projects around the world are seeing animals being reintroduced to areas they once lived in in an attempt to restore the environment to how it once was but sometimes this can lead to unexpected situations when these animals come face to face with human activity on the island of guernsey which is in the english channel between the uk and france one of the biggest concerns is the protection of the grasslands and to help with this farmers have introduced new cows they selectively graze and their hoofs churn up the soil which improves biodiversity but as one homeowner found there's a cost to this when pat costan had gone upstairs for a shower one morning she had heard a commotion downstairs and that's when she remembered that she had forgotten to lock the doors she rushed her shower and ran downstairs but by then it was far too late two cows had let themselves in presumably in search of a bathroom to use but after finding themselves in a room with a lovely soft carpet they instead decided to do their business right there it was almost as if they had redecorated the entire floor and after sifting through a pile of papers costan managed to encourage them to leave it took her the rest of the day to clean up the mess which wasn't exactly how she planned to spend her afternoon

number eight monitor lizard go shopping 7-elevens offer such convenience with food drink and products in one place that this video proves it's not just humans that find it hard to resist the offers but animals too it was recorded in april of 2021 at a 7-eleven in a village in thailand called nakhon patom which is just outside of bangkok and it's clear why the other customers had the shock of their lives inside there was a monitor lizard climbing up one of the shelving units and according to eyewitnesses it had calmly walked in and started looking for food the store workers called the police who called animal control and they managed to carefully tempt it out of the store and back to nearby undergrowth while it's not that unusual to see a monitor lizard in urban areas of thailand since they live in canals and ponds a six-foot lizard crawling into a store isn't exactly a commonplace occurrence on this occasion it's thought to have been because there was a prolonged dry period and it would have felt that there was no choice but to risk what it did to try to find some food

number seven scorpion on the floor no matter where you live there will be animals that you are used to that people from other places find horrifying but there are also some that even if you know they live nearby will still give you an almighty shock if they turn up inside your house that's what happened to the lady who filmed this video who lives in arizona she had just given her two children a bath and after drying them off walked outside to find a scorpion crawling around on the floor it was an arizona bark scorpion which is common to the nearby sonoran desert and can grow to a maximum size of about three and a half inches she quite rightly was wary of the creature as this species is the most venomous type of scorpion that's native to north america and if it were to sting you it would cause severe pain vomiting and swelling for up to three days luckily on this occasion the homeowner was able to call animal control who came and safely captured the scorpion before releasing it back into the desert but she admitted afterward that the experience was almost enough to convince her to move to a different state entirely

number six badger bandit native throughout the european continent european badgers are surprisingly big with bodies that measure almost three feet long not including their tails and weighing up to 37 pounds in most habitats where they live their dominant omnivores that will scrounge for food wherever they can to take back to store in their underground burrows either to feed their families or to keep for winter this sometimes means that they make their way into people's homes and it can be quite the shock to see one of these animals helping themselves to your dinner in this video a badger has cleverly worked its way into a family's kitchen in england through a cat flap and was nimble enough to open the fridge door according to the owner jeff taylor the fridge was full of different types of food but the treat that the badger chose for itself was a freshly made bakewell tart which is a pastry made with almonds and jam seemingly camera shy once the badger realized that it was being filmed it turned around and ran back out the way it had come in but it had still managed to eat almost half of the tart and the family were convinced that had it not been disturbed it would have made its way through all of the other treats on display

five is that a python in the shower visually impaired people experience the world in a very different way and rely far more on other senses like touch sound and smell than those who are fortunate to have good eyesight do one of the techniques that help them live a self-reliant life is that objects are left in the same place so they know exactly where to find them so when something appears out of place it can be confusing at first stuart saunders from exeter in the uk was listening to music one evening when he heard a huge crashing sound coming from his bathroom unable to see very well he made his way in there and found a piece of foam pipe had fallen out of the ceiling and was lodged in his shower at least that's what he thought happened just a moment later his support worker came rushing into the bathroom and told him to let go of the pipe because instead of being part of the plumbing system it was actually an eight foot long python that had slid up through the toilet it had escaped from a neighbor's room and it caused a huge amount of damage in the bathroom as well as leaving slime all over the place that took all evening to clean up saunders who had never handled the snake before simply had no way to recognize the texture that he was holding it was lucky his support worker came to help so quickly otherwise who knows what would have happened

number four another hungry bear if you live in an area where bears roam in the wild then it's a good bet that at some point you'll see one trying its best to sneak some snacks from unsuspecting homeowners this footage was recorded in alpine meadows california a few days after a fresh blanket of snow had fallen and when there was very little natural food outdoors for bears to find events like these often push the animals to take bigger risks to get what they need and this one managed to climb through a window and peruse what was on offer in the empty apartment like it was a help yourself buffet when it re-emerged through the window it had a big bag in its mouth which the owner later confirmed was a bag of freshly cooked chicken the bear having just committed a crime acts as if nothing's unusual about walking with packaged food and slowly calmly and confidently walks into the tree line where it was able to work out how to actually tear through the plastic to release the juicy goodness hidden within amazingly events like these are extremely common across the u.s and it's estimated that there's at least one home food burglary committed by a bear somewhere across the country every day what's more surprising is that these are rarely random events and the bears spend time watching the target property to be as sure as possible that there won't be any people inside at the time which gives them a much better chance at making a safe getaway

number three bat in the living room there are at least 1400 known species of bats around the world most of which live in rural locations and nesting caves from where they can fly freely at night and scour large areas of the countryside in search of food sometimes though they set up home in high spots of homes or close to urban regions which gives them a potentially wider selection of prey to choose from but also means they run the extra risk of encountering people more often by using echolocation and also possessing excellent eyesight in the dark the mammals usually move with purpose and know where they're going but there are occasions when they get spooked by something unexpected and end up flying somewhere completely by accident it's actually quite common for bats to fly through open doors and windows and even though they're relatively small creatures it can be a huge shock to anyone that's inside at the time this video captured what happened when a bat flew into a home in the united states and at first you can see the dogs watching it fly around the room almost in sync with the ceiling fan while the dogs remain calm the humans most certainly don't and it was only when the bat finally flew back out of the house that everything calmed down again

number two elephant looking for snacks one of the appealing things of living in houses made of bricks and mortar or strong wooden panels is that they provide a rigid structure that protects you from the elements and also from unwanted people or animals from entering things work very differently when a guest decides to invite themselves in though when they're up to 11 and a half feet tall and weigh as much as 11 000 pounds in june of 2021 a thai homeowner was rudely awoken one saturday morning by a huge crashing and banging sound and was initially worried that her house was falling down when she went to investigate she couldn't believe what she found herself looking at there was an elephant's head peering into her kitchen by the drying rack just where the night before there had been a wall the animal called bunchowe was well known to the villagers and his trunk was swinging back and forth searching through the kitchen drawers and knocking pans and other kitchen implements onto the ground he's an indian elephant that lives in thailand's kangra-chan national park and is free to roam virtually wherever he wants and has been seen on occasions visiting the village's markets after being attracted by food to make things even crazier this wasn't even the first time this elephant had helped itself to food in this exact kitchen as the same thing happened to the previous owner a few years earlier when asked how she'd fix the wall to prevent an elephant from doing this again the current owner simply shrugged her shoulders and asked why she wanted to stop it if anything she was happy to continue feeding such a majestic creature and it certainly made for a more interesting weekend

number one giraffe manor while the animal intruders aren't unexpected there's a place in africa that lets visitors get so close to nature that you can at times get scared of just how in the middle of it you are known as giraffe manor it's an exclusive boutique hotel in nairobi kenya which is set within 12 acres of private land which is surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest the manor house has been there since the 1930s and was a must stay venue for travelers at the time but the owners have made it a truly unique place which has its own herd of friendly giraffes that roam the grounds rather than simply watching them from afar though the giraffes are just as welcome at the manor as the guests and the doors and windows have been designed in a way to allow them to reach their heads all the way in this leads to possibly the most bizarre but incredible breakfast experience you'll find anywhere in the world where once the food has been set out at the table you'll suddenly realize there are giraffes right next to you making sure they get to eat the fruit before you even get a chance to pick it up it's a true animal lover's paradise and no surprise that it's booked well in advance watch our nature playlist for more top 15 videos about beautiful nature sit back relax and binge watch all of our best nature videos [Music] you
